What to Expect
Session length
Individual counselling sessions are generally sixty minutes in length. When working with couples or families it may be useful to extend the appointment to 90 minutes if required.
Confidentiality
Counsellors are bound by the professional Codes of Ethics to ensure information provided by clients remains confidential.
There are some exceptions to confidentiality:

Where a court of law has subpoenaed records and requires a counsellor to be present as a witness

Where laws require mandatory disclosure of information

Where there is a clear risk to the safety of yourself or others
